how AreaCab ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, discloses, and
safeguards your information when you use our mobile application
designed for drivers.

or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of your
information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with
the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.
1. Information We Collect
To provide our ride-sharing, logistical matching, and earnings
distribution services, we collect several types of information from
and about our drivers:
A. Personal Information You Provide

phone number, profile photo, and login credentials (managed securely
via our authentication partner, Clerk).

Driver Verification Data: Driver’s license
information, vehicle registration, insurance details, and
government-issued identification required for background checks and
regulatory compliance.

Financial & Payout Information: Local bank account
details, routing numbers, and transaction logs required to deposit
your compiled ride earnings into your bank account (processed
securely via our payment processing partner, Stripe Connect).
B. Location Data (Critical Disclosure)

Precise Real-Time Location: We collect precise
location data from your mobile device to match you with nearby
passenger requests, calculate accurate ride routes, provide seamless
map navigation, and track trip progress.
Background Location Access: The App collects precise location data
even when the App is closed or not in use, provided you are logged
in and marked as "Online" or available to accept rides. This
background tracking is strictly necessary to maintain dispatch
synchronization, update waiting passengers on your estimated time of
arrival, and ensure safety during active trips.
C. Usage and Device Data

Device Identifiers: IP address, device type,
operating system version, mobile network information, and push
notification tokens (managed via Expo).

Application Logs: App crash logs, system
performance metrics, and transaction timestamps to troubleshoot
technical bugs and maintain software reliability.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for purposes including, but not limited to:

Service Provision: Matching you with passengers,
calculating optimal ride routes, and managing active trips.

Earnings and Financial Management: Accumulating
ride payments directly within your secure driver wallet balance,
calculating correct fares (minus platform service commissions),
tracking historical earnings statements, and executing payout
settlement transfers directly to your linked bank account.

Communications: Sending you vital push
notifications regarding ride assignments, app updates, wallet
balance settlements, and technical support notices.

Safety and Security: Verifying system identities,
preventing fraudulent account behavior, monitoring trip route
anomalies, and complying with local transit regulations.
3. Sharing and Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only in
the following scenarios:

With Passengers: To facilitate the ride service, we
share your first name, profile picture, vehicle make/model, license
plate number, and real-time navigation coordinates with the
passenger who requested the trip.

With Third-Party Service Providers: We share
specific data with trusted infrastructure providers necessary to run
the App core systems:

Clerk: For identity authentication and driver
profile management.

Stripe Connect: For secure financial ledgers,
tracking driver wallet balances, and executing direct payouts.

Expo Push Services: For delivery of instant
operational and transactional mobile notifications.

or to protect the safety, rights, or property of AreaCab, our users,
or the general public.
4. Data Security and Retention
We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical
security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized
access, loss, or alteration.

Your authentication credentials are encrypted and managed externally
by Clerk.

Your banking settlement information is handled via secure
tokenization through Stripe and is never saved directly on our
application servers.

We retain your data only as long as your account remains active or
as required by law to fulfill tax, regulatory, or reporting
obligations.
5. Your Rights and Data Deletion
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to access, correct,
or request the deletion of your personal data.

information directly within the App profile settings.

permanent deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

data, except for transactional ledger data we are legally mandated
to retain for compliance, tax, or legal records.

material changes by posting the updated text within the App or via an
